I'm so pleased to announce that Vikas and I finally have our new book out. This was a collaboration between myself and Neighbourhood Forest, an amazing organisation created by my dear friend Vikas Narula.

Together we have created a children’s book about trees to go along with Neighbourhood Forest's annual free tree giveaway. Neighbourhood Forest works with children of all ages to plant trees in urban environments throughout the whole of the USA. This book is about how Vikas became interested in trees from his childhood right up to the creation of his thriving organisation that is educating and inspiring children everywhere.

After many iterations, delays, rework, editing, and ruminating the book has finally been printed This lovely children’s book about nurturing a seed and growing a movement.

“Our Neighborhood Forest” is printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper and each purchase funds a free tree for a child in our program.

It is now available on Amazon and we have already sold 700+ copies to families, libraries, and schools all across North America.

I'm now showing a few of my latest paintings at Zest in Karlstad. Below is a painting with the title, Eve creating the world from sin.
Choosing to take the story of Adam and Eve as a creation myth rather than a strict religious text is something I've thought a lot about. Taken as a text, it is rigid, but taken as a myth or a story it is easier for me to find a truth there that I can relate to. Many creation myths involve the breaking of symmetry in order for something to begin, just as a seed breaks open for a plant to emerge. That process is often associated with the feminine. The idea of that as sinful, appears to me, to have been imposed by those who wish to control nature, women and society. It doesn't connect with the divinity of God and the divine feminine in nature. So this painting is about the beauty of creating from sin, if one wishes to call it that.

Please drop by and enjoy a latte and some raw food while you are there, art is always so much nicer when you have something good to eat!
